Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been won on hard courts
A comeback the Russian player claimed his initial title for over two years with a win over opponent Moutet in the competition title decider.
The Russian, a former number one, has experienced a difficult season, managing just one match at the Grand Slams and experiencing a setback at the American major.
His inconsistency on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serving in particular - caused him falling of the world's top 10 and ultimately parting ways with long-time coach Gilles Cervara.
Presently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has steadily progressed in the recent weeks - culminating in a closely contested three-set victory over challenger Corentin Moutet.
It is Medvedev's initial championship following the Rome competition and first on a hard court from March of that year.
The win also signifies the Russian has achieved 21 championships at twenty-one distinct events.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a tournament with my both daughters together, so to secure a title is particularly special," stated world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in honour of my child my daughter, because the maiden victory I got when my child her name was delivered was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had failed in his last six title deciders, featuring in Halle in the past months.
The player's defensive strategy and regular reactions on court had caused commentators to doubt if his skill to compete at the elite level was finished.
However the athlete has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, striving to advance forward and compete positively, supported by an improved service.
Medvedev recovered from a break down in the initial set against the challenging opponent, taking 4 of the concluding five exchanges to go ahead.
The competitors exchanged breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, bidding for his initial professional title, gained dominance to create a decider.
The opponent saved 4 early opportunities in a competitive final set before the Russian broke to fifteen to secure the win.
Suitably, Medvedev earned the title with a shot at the net area, with Moutet incapable to control a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
